Besides academics, students at SDI-Visakhapatnam are highly sensitized towards Government of India's Swachh Bharat Mission and other Programs. As a part of daily curriculum students take up cleanliness drive inside the campus. They also partake in Swachh Bharat campaigns in and around the campus.

Students participate in exterrnal programs / exhibitions organised by Government & other agencies on occasions like World Youth Skills Day, Jnanabheri, Udyog Mela etc.

Students participate in events of National & International importance like Republic Day, Independence Day, World Environment Day, Mothers Day, Teachers Day etc. and present skits / dramas / songs inside SDI's auditorium.
